Pathfinders
A leadership expedition where emerging leaders develop the curiosity, courage and human connection required for modern leadership.
Leadership today requires more than expertise — it calls for deeply human capabilities.
CONTEXT
In fast-changing business environments, technical expertise alone is no longer enough. Leaders must build trust, foster collaboration, and create environments where people and ideas thrive.
A global Insights and Data organisation wanted to support its emerging leaders in developing these capabilities — recognising the important role people managers play in shaping culture, engagement, and innovation.
THE CHALLENGE
For many emerging leaders, the transition from expert to people leader is not straightforward. They must create inclusive environments where people feel heard and supported, build trust through empathy and authentic connection, and encourage diverse perspectives that fuel creativity and innovation.
The organisation wanted to help its future leaders strengthen these capabilities and lead in a more human way.
THE EXPERIENCE
Pathfinders brings together a global cohort of emerging leaders for a four-month leadership journey.
Through facilitated sessions, peer collaboration, coaching, and reflection, participants explore six core human capabilities — curiosity, imagination, creativity, courage, compassion, and vulnerability — and experiment with new behaviours in their everyday work.
A central element of the journey was the Human Leadership Project, where participants explored practical ways to bring more humanity into their teams and workplace.
THE IMPACT
Participants left the programme with a deeper understanding of what it means to lead in a human way.
They strengthened their ability to build trust, encourage diverse perspectives, and create environments where people feel valued and motivated to contribute.
For many, the experience marked a shift in how they see their role — not only delivering results, but shaping the human experience of work for the teams they lead.
Pathfinders received a Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Learning Award for its innovative approach to leadership development.
